Probate & Intestacy Administration

In the event your loved one has passed away leaving a Last Will & Testament, Thomson Law will assist the nominated personal representative with filing the necessary documents for appointment and provide representation to the personal representative throughout the probate administration proceedings.  If there is not a Will, the proceeding will be an intestacy administration.  In an intestacy proceeding, state law will dictate the distribution of the assets.  The representation provided by Thomson Law will include the following:

  • Validating the Last Will and Testament or Determining the Heirs of the Decedent
  • Filing and serving all required notices
  • Preparation of an inventory of the probate assets and valuation of the assets, if necessary
  • Distribution of the estate assets
  • Obtaining any required court approval
  • Closing the estate
